What is an alt tag?
An alt tag, also known as alternative tag, is used to describe an image in a short sentence. A picture is worth a thousand words, but not for Google spiders. Since pictures don’t have any meaning for search engines, an alt text and content text are equally important.Technical rules for alt tags?
- Should describe the image in a short sentence
- Alt attributes should always include the keyword
- An ideal html alt tag text should be around 7 to 8 words, but not more than 16 words
