Life of a panther By Roman
By:
Lara Lockwood, a contributing crowdpanther
The Copypanthers office party took place last Friday, 17
th January, at Rose Marine in Cihangir, Istanbul. The office party was postponed from Christmas as many of the Istanbul-based crowdpanthers were out of the country at the end of December. It was clearly a good idea to delay the office party, as lots of people turned up for this evening social!
The office party was on the top floor of Rose Marine and the venue was friendly and intimate. The welcoming noise of chatter and music drifted to greet me as I arrived at the party, and I made my way upstairs to find around 30 people having a marvelous time! There were plates of delicious cheeses and fruit distributed on the tables and a private barman was mixing up drinks as requested.
As a relatively new crowpanther, I had not met any of the office team or any other panthers. Obvious though it may seem, copywriting and translating work operates purely via email and is quite removed from personal contact so, in a way, it was a surprise to see so many people at the party! I was soon chatting away to a wonderful mix of bubbly, young panthers and getting to put faces to names from the office. After months of emailing Ulrika it was great to see her smiling face, feed off her enthusiasm for the company and the evening festivities.
The other panthers I met had really diverse backgrounds. Everyone was quick-witted and animated about being in Istanbul and about being a panther. I felt like I’d found a small work family, and, as an ex-pat in Turkey, this was rather lovely! Meeting everyone has meant I have even more enthusiasm for my work and motivation to commit more of my time with this lovely bunch. I extend a huge thank you to the Copypanthers team for putting on such a lovely office party for us.
